To become a practicing Clinical Trichologist then further higher level study is required to meet the professional standards written by the Trichology Standards Authority.

Completion of a level 5 qualification in the Principles and Practice of Trichology* and level 6 qualification in Clinical Trichology* will provide the equivalent to a degree level qualification for the first time in the profession of trichology, raising the professional standards and increasing the minimum level of education needed to be a trichologist. Access to our higher level courses relies on the completion of a level 4 qualification in hair and scalp science or equivalent evidence of knowledge and understanding and academic ability to study at level 5 and 6.

Our aim is that through completion of the level 5 and 6, wider pathways will become available to the Clinical Trichologist for further career development, and promote high standards of education and expectations of trichological practice and conduct, to create a highly professional, competent and skilled workforce.

Trichology is the science, study and treatment of the hair and scalp and a person that practices trichology is known as a trichologist.
